Interdisciplinary expert review, with bilingual interviews assessing international mobility readiness

To cultivate outstanding students with global mobility and cross-cultural learning abilities, the International Affairs Office of Asia University recently conducted interviews for the Spotlight Program. Students from all colleges actively participated, demonstrating strong enthusiasm for international exchange opportunities across the university.

The interview committee engaged in a Q&A session with the students to gain a deeper understanding of their exchange study plans and development potential.

The interview committee consisted of distinguished faculty members, including Dean of International Affairs Chun-Wei Lin; Associate Professor Chao-Fu Yang from the College of Creative Design; Associate Professor and Department Chair Shu-Chuan Chen from the College of Management and Social Sciences; and Assistant Professor Shu-Kai Chang from the College of Medical and Health Sciences. The committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of students’ language proficiency, learning motivation, cross-cultural adaptability, and future development potential.

During the interview, students were required to introduce themselves in both Chinese and English and present their motivations, study plans, and future goals, showcasing their personal characteristics and global perspectives. Overall, their performance reflected the diverse backgrounds and strong international competitiveness of Asia University students.

Dean of International Affairs Chun-Wei Lin stated that the Spotlight Program is one of the key initiatives in promoting internationalization at Asia University. With a global network of over 100 sister universities, the university provides diverse opportunities for students to pursue exchange studies aligned with their academic interests and career aspirations, while strengthening their language proficiency and professional competencies and enhancing their future employability.

Students who participated in the interviews shared that the experience helped them better understand their strengths and areas for improvement, while also strengthening their goals and direction for future overseas exchange studies.

In the future, the International Affairs Office will continue to promote diverse international exchange programs, encouraging more students to step onto the global stage and fostering a more internationally competitive learning environment.
