From psychology and digital innovation to health and culture, embark on three weeks of interdisciplinary learning and immersive exploration of Taiwan

On the morning of August 4, the Office of International Affairs at Asia University (AU) held a grand opening ceremony for the 2026 Summer Program. The program warmly welcomes 9 outstanding international university students from four countries and regions—South Korea, Mongolia, Hong Kong, and Indonesia—to embark on an enriching two-and-a-half-week journey of cross-disciplinary learning and Taiwanese cultural immersion.

The opening ceremony was filled with energy and enthusiasm. Key faculty members and university leaders attended to extend their heartfelt welcome to the visiting international students. Honored guests included Dr. Lin, Chun-Wei, Dean of International Affairs; Dr. Chen, I-Chi, Vice Dean of International Affairs; Dr. Susan C. Hu, Dean of the College of Medical and Health Science; and Dr. Mao, Yuen-Jean, Director of the Chinese Language Center. In their opening remarks, the university leaders collectively encouraged the participants to actively exchange ideas during their time at AU, expand their global perspectives, and maximize their learning across diverse fields.

The curriculum for this year's Summer Program is both rigorous and diverse, spanning fields such as psychology, information communication, health management, and Mandarin language and culture. Key course highlights include: Mental Health and Well-being: Taught by a faculty team led by Dr. Rui-Ming Liao, Chair of the Department of Psychology, exploring mental health maintenance and self-well-being adjustment.

Digital Web Page Design: Guided by Instructor Jia-Han Lin from the Department of Information Communication, developing students' skills in digital media expression and website architecture design.

Health Management and Consumer Economics: Led by experts from the College of Medical and Health Science, combining health management concepts with discussions on consumer risk and economic culture.

Mandarin Culture and Art Experience: Specially designed by the Chinese Language Center, featuring a guided trip to the National Palace Museum in Taipei for a deep dive into local Taiwanese culture.

In addition to classroom learning, AU has arranged various outdoor activities to help international students explore Taiwan, foster deeper cultural exchange, and comfortably adapt to local life.

Dr. Lin, Chun-Wei, Dean of International Affairs, highlighted that through this program, Asia University aims to deepen international cooperation in higher education across Asia, while demonstrating the university's outstanding achievements in interdisciplinary education and campus internationalization.
