Asia University Enters the List of Top 200 THE Young University Rankings---
In the 2020 THE ranking report of the best young universities in the world, AU enters the list of 150-200. Accordingly, AU is ranked No. 3 in Taiwan, and No. 1 of the private universities in Taiwan
The UK Times Higher Education (THE) organization published the “2020 Best Young Universities in the World” on June 24, in which 16 Taiwanese universities enter this ranking list. Asia University (AU) is ranked in the range of 150-200. Accordingly, AU is ranked No. 3 in Taiwan, and No. 1 of the private universities in Taiwan.
The THE organization ranked the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger and published the result the other day, including 414 universities from 66 countries and regions in the world. AU enters the list of the top 200 universities
Prof. Chang-Hai Tsai and Mr. Tseng-lien Lin who founded Taichung Healthcare and Management College in 2001. At the time, the board of trustees made the decision to establish a distinguished university in the 21st century in Taiwan . Appreciatively, Taichung Healthcare and Management college was promoted to the level of university, named Asia University. Founder Tsai said that the university is expected to become an internationally competitive and comprehensive university, with the goals of “entering world university rankings, thinking globally, and acting locally.”
The President of AU, Jeffrey J.P. Tsai said that AU has been granted “awards of teaching excellence” by the Ministry of Education (MOE) since 2006 because of the teaching efforts of the teachers. It has also been ranked to be among the top universities in Taiwan every year by the Global Views Monthly magazine and Cheers magazine. About student recruiting this year, AU, whose rate is 99.17%, is ranked top in 36 private universities in Taiwan.
President Tsai said that AU was listed in the international ranking of the THE for the first time in 2014, and then still remains in the list this year. AU has entered nine ranking lists of the THE reports and obtained global visibility, establishing a good foundation for internationalization.
A vice president of AU, Ta-Cheng Chen, said that according to the Cheers magazine, this year AU has 1056 exchange students, and is ranked No. 1 in Taiwan, and that each year, the university subsidizes nearly 1,000 teachers and students to go abroad for training, taking a double degree, studying as exchange students or internships, working as international volunteers, taking part in competitions, etc. This year, AU received a subsidy of more than NT$ 26 million dollars from the MOE for studying abroad under the New Southward Policy, and will send more than 400 students to go abroad. There will also be more students from the New Southward Countries to come to study at AU. In addition, AU students received 114 research projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), being ranked the fifth in Taiwan and the third in private universities, showing remarkable performances of AU students.
